We have some sad news. We have lost 3 of our claims in Tuolumne County. Ours, Ibar and Albie 2.
This is due to a computer problem within the BLM in paying for the annual fees in 2023. We were led to believe the transaction went through, when it did not on their end. We were not notified of this until more than a year later (of course after paying for 2024) and appealed their closure of the claims. In that interim time of appealing, the claims were filed on and we have now received the written denial notice from BLM. We are removing the claims from our listing and want everyone to respect the new owners….can’t blame them for filing on them.
Yes, this sucks and we even contacted the new owner of Albie 2 and Ours. Unfortunately, $20,000 is a bit steep for us to purchase the Ours claim from them.
This is really indicative of how screwed up the rollout of the on-line portion of the BLM payment system is as we have had numerous claim owners tell us they had the exact same issue at the exact same time. We were denied the opportunity to even discuss the case with them after the initial appeal paperwork was sent in.
Makes us sick to our stomach.
